We believe that events are one of the most potent places to find, cultivate and deepen connection and community. Unfortunately the current events paradigm is built on outdated sit-and-listen models that promote disengagement, frustration and overwhelm. We are here to break new ground, and to develop new models for interactive, engaging experiential growth and learning.
Founder & CEO
Jenny Sauer-Klein is passionate about designing transformational experiences that prioritize connection over content, and regularly consults for organizations like Google, Airbnb, Dropbox and the Haas School of Business. She is the founder and CEO of the Scaling Intimacy School of Experience Design, which trains event leaders to strategically weave connection into the fabric of their events. She created Play On Purpose, a video tutorial library with over 80 of her best virtual and in-person team building games, to support facilitators to confidently engage and connect groups and teams. In her previous career as the co-founder of AcroYoga, she successfully scaled an international brand, community and organization with millions of practitioners. She is a frequent presenter at international conferences and has been featured in The New York Times, Forbes, Fast Company, and Inc., as well as Tim Ferriss’ book Tools of Titans.
Director, Program + Operations
Alex designs experiences and builds systems with the mission of creating deeply supportive spaces that allow people to show up as their whole selves. Deemed the multi-tool from an early mentor, Alex is a generalist whose ability to synthesize context, distill core needs and create solutions to tough challenges has been developed by a winding path including 15 years at summer camp, running teen travel programs, producing corporate events, managing a coworking space and training in design thinking and community organizing. When not working with Scaling Intimacy, Alex is a founding member of Project:Camp, an organization reimagining childcare in communities affected by natural disasters.
Mercedes Reilly is a creative problem-solver with a passion for learning and development. She earned her B.F.A. in Arts Management and a M.A. in Art Therapy with an Emphasis in Counseling. Mercedes has over five years’ experience, planning and facilitating groups, including individual and group art therapy sessions with adults with substance abuse, children, adolescents, families, and older adults with neurocognitive impairments. Prior to her current role, she also worked as an Administrative Assistant at Ringling College of Art and Design, planning and facilitating fun and engaging team-building workshops for staff retreats and student workshops. When not working with Scaling Intimacy, Mercedes is a dog-loving freelance artist, graphic designer, photographer, and organization guru.
Julia Winston is an Executive Coach, Experience Designer and Facilitator based in Oakland, California. With a background in community building and corporate leadership, most recently as the Chief Culture Officer of Alpine Investors, Julia works with leaders, teams and organizations around the world to bring people together in meaningful ways as they aspire to accomplish amazing things. She is also a writer, hiker, yoga & meditation teacher, and Shabbat dinner host extraordinaire!
Adam Rosendahl is a facilitator, experience designer, and the Founder of LATE NITE ART®, a creative learning and development lab. Through his experiential workshops and trainings, he fuses art, music, and dialogue as a vehicle to breathe imagination and connection into teams, organizations, and conferences across the globe.
Joanna Miller the Lead of Organizational Effectiveness & Coaching at Asana focusing on building internal programs for self development, effective collaboration and leadership coaching. Her goal as a leader, coach and facilitator is to design experiences that inspire deeper curiosity, connection and clarity of purpose. Prior to her current role, she led the learning and development team at Asana and launched the Global Merchandising University for Levi Strauss & Co. Joanna received her B.A. in romance languages and literature from Harvard University.
